It marked my first solo exhibition at MODESTE, themed "Playing with Kozo.”
This is a glimpse of the Nishijima Washi Kobo exhibition held from March 12th to 17th, 2024.
The exhibition focused on reimagining washi paper, which has been used in Japan since ancient times, along with its primary raw material, mulberry. The project explored the potentials of materials beyond just those used for washi paper. The resulting works were abundant in possibilities, making it a wonderful exhibition that hinted at future expansions.

Exhibition of Tomoko Hirashima
This exhibition of Mr. Hirajima and Mr. Adachi was held in November 2023. Hirajima and Adachi were classmates in high school and have known each other for over 30 years. Thier carefully crafted shoes are both comfortable and stylish. I own three pairs and enjoy their excellent fit and superb craftsmanship.
