  • Handling

    Do not place in microwave oven, oven, or dishwasher/dryer. Do not leave in water for long periods of time and avoid exposing to direct sunlight. Avoid extreme dry conditions, such as in front of a stove or in a place strongly affected by air conditioning. The product may crack due to strong impact. If the product comes in contact with iron when wet, it may discolor.
    Do not use the stove in a place where it will be exposed to the sun.

    Use a soft sponge and mild detergent. Use a soft sponge and mild detergent. Please avoid using bleach, as it may cause discoloration. Washing in a dishwasher or leaving in water for a long time is not recommended as it may deform or discolor the wood product. After washing, dry the product well before use. Using the product while it is still wet may cause mold or deformation.

  • Care

    Please ensure the wood products are thoroughly dried.
 Wipe the wood evenly with a small amount of dry oil (walnut oil, linseed oil, Egoma oil, etc.) on a cloth. Wipe thoroughly to avoid excess oil does not stick to the surface.
 Do not leave the oil-soaked cloth is left as it is, it may spontaneously ignite. Always place the cloth in a plastic bag, moisten it with water, seal it and dispose of it according to local regulations. 
After applying the oil, place the wood product on disposable chopsticks or a similar object and allow it to dry for at least 8 hours. 
Over time, the texture of the wood will deepen, enhancing its natural beauty.
    Please note that dry oil is an edible product.

KOIVU

Born in 1975. Born in Tokyo.
Graduated from Wako University, Department of Art and later studied abroad in Finland. After returning to Japan, he established his original brand "KOIVU" in 2007. KOIVU means "white birch" in Finnish, its wood is used for everyday tools, including as houses and furniture. Its bark serves as a raw material for xylitol, and its leaves are an ingredient of shampoo.
We are dedicated to daily production, while considering changing world and the things that are needs of the people who inhabit it.
