Workshop – Creating with Leftover Threads and Fabrics

PICNIC Exhibition
During the exhibition PICNIC, held from March 18 to 28, 2025, by artists Mayako Nakamura and Satoe Shimizu, a special workshop was conducted to explore creative reuse through textile art.
Creating with Waste Materials
Participants were invited to freely create works using discarded threads and fabric remnants donated by a Taiwanese apparel company. Though the materials were originally destined for disposal, each participant transformed them into something new and personal. The resulting pieces reflected unique perspectives and individual creativity—highlighting the potential of waste materials to be reborn as expressive works of art.
