We present vessels of joy and healing into your daily life.
EATART tableware features intricate designs hand-painted by Mayako Nakamura in collaboration with Riso Porcelain in Arita, Saga. Inspired by the natural beauty of Japan, Mayako uses plants like shepherd’s purse, mugwort, Japanese pampas grass, and sakura branches as her “Plant Brushes.” With gosu (cobalt oxide), she paints on unglazed pottery capturing the delicate essence of nature, making the grass and trees appear as if swaying gently in the wind. Each finished piece evokes a sense of movement and tranquility, transforming into a serene landscape that tells a story.
The crafting process begins with molding and unglazed firing, followed by underglaze painting and the application of a blue glaze. The pieces are then baked in the kiln and sandblasted, resulting in a unique texture. This final sandblasting step enhances the depth of the Arita Blue and gives the tableware a smooth, stone-like finish. EATART tableware, created at Riso Porcelain, embodies the perfect blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistry. Each piece is not only functional but also a work of art that brings joy, comfort and elegance to your daily life.
